Narrative in theory is a structure which can be applied to many forms of Art; some of the mediums include; photography, television, games, theatre & other visual arts. It is said that narrative also has three types of structure; linear, non-linear and circular but they can also differ in the way they end, as they can be completely circular (beginning exactly how they end), open to interpretation, or have a definite closed ending. Narrative theory is also very common in the medium of film and music, aiding in the creator in portraying a certain message and publishing this to an audience in a way that they can be informed, intrigued and interpret the messages given in the desired ‘text’ whether that be a music video, film or photograph.

Circular narrative is when a selected text has a beginning and ending that is the same and so the conflict and climax in-between this is where the creator will intrigue and inform the viewer. Circular narratives is a very complex structure and only several text have been able to successfully decipher this structure and carefully give an engaging text for the public eye. Two of which can be seen in Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill and a film called Memento.
